So this song by Curren$y actually isn’t that old, but it still counts as a throwback since it didn’t drop this year.
However, with that being said, it’s still straight fire to me!
Music Snapshot – Rap Throwback: Must Admit by Curren$y
So in this song, Curren$y is not only letting people know that he’s that dude, but he’s giving reasons as to why he’s on that status.
To me, this song is extremely motivational and I often bump it while I’m hustling or at work when I’m completing documents and stuff.
When starting out the song, Curren$y is making a bold proclamation that he is that dude and everyone has to acknowledge it and you shouldn’t let anyone tell you otherwise:
“I must admit, I am that n*gga (Yeah, yeah)
I must admit, I am that n*gga (Yeah, yeah)
I must admit, I am that n*gga (Yeah, yeah)
I must admit, I am that n*gga (Yeah, yeah)
Don’t let nobody tell you different (Yeah, yeah)
You must admit, I am that n*gga
You must admit, I am that n*gga
I must admit, I am that n*gga (Yeah, yeah)”
With the chorus, if you say this to yourself over and over again even you’ll start to believe that you are that guy.
Here he’s saying that he’s the franchise and the hot commodity that keeps this thing going and even he has to admit it.
After the chorus, verse two was the realest verse in this song to me because Curren$y not only flexes, but he states that he still has his cars and that him and his crew always bring money to the table so they don’t be playing games and dealing with simps who waste their money.
“You must admit, I am that n*gga (I am that n*gga)
How many you know bought this many Bentleys? (Bought this many Bentleys)
Still got ’em all, didn’t sell any (Sell any)
Rose gold Rollie, that’s a pretty pendant (That’s a pretty pendant)
No identity crisis, no switchin’ images (Switching images)
I been the same stoned G since I stepped in this b*tch (Since I stepped in this b*tch)
Now I’m triple OG, I got my membership (I got my membership)
You can’t get into this, ’cause we don’t f*ck with simps (No we don’t f*ck with simps)
We bring that money in (Bring that money in)”
This song was not only motivating, but also telling of how Curren$y and his crew handle things. The remix with Rick Ross was dope too.
Hopefully this song inspires you too as we keep going on our journey to success!
Much Love and Peace!
