So I meant to write about this a while ago, but of course, life gets in the way of what we want to do sometimes.
In essence, we continue to press on especially with a new year right around the corner.
After releasing his most recent mixtape, Troy Ave gifted us with a rare gem with Dance in The Rain…
Music Snapshot – Troy Ave: Dance in The Rain
In this track, Troy asks the listener “You ever been loyal and got betrayed? Found out people ain’t who they portray?”
Right off the bat, I began to re-live situations in my life where I could identify with that statement.
When looking through and deciphering the lyrics, I hear a story of pain, broken trust, and a lower level of tolerance with the people he may have had closest to him.
I’m sure that many of us can identify with this as even I have had to limit how big my circle would become. We definitely are the sum of those closest to us.
Now before anybody gets out of pocket, I’m speaking in the context of what’s being expressed in the song so I’m not making reference to the Irving Plaza situation.
Just in this instance of the song, he’s speaking in analogies that should be relatable to most of us even if you aren’t aware of his current circumstances.
