It really sucks having to write about him in this format because of the fact that he’s really gone, but as one of my favorite players to watch, there were many life lessons that I learned from the career and example of Kobe Bryant.
It’s just crazy that immediately after waking up and getting ready for work that I learned of such tragic news.
Honestly, I didn’t want to believe it and this one hit me as hard as the deaths of Nipsey Hussle and Michael Jackson, both of which were also heroes of mine.
In essence, please continue reading below for the gems that Kobe left us….
Personal Development – Hard Work Beats Talent Always
Kobe was always one of the hardest workers in NBA History. He’d wake up early and stay late.
According to Ball Is Life, during the season Kobe would train 6 days a week and 6 hours a day for a total of 6 months out of the year. He’d do lots of high intensity training, lift weights, and shoot 700 – 1000 shots per day.
With a work ethic like this, it’s no wonder that he became one of the greatest players in NBA history!
On our own journey to success, we have to have an obsession with our craft and our passion in order to be the best that we can be.
However, we should not sacrifice our health to achieve such things because our health is necessary to be successful no matter what we do.
Personal Development – The Mamba Mentality Wasn’t Just A Mindset, But A Lifestyle
So my impression of the Mamba Mentality is not only having the killer instinct, but also giving whatever you do your all and expecting the best outcome.
Yes this was evident every time we saw Kobe on the court, however, this mentality isn’t just a mindset, but a lifestyle.
We must give it our best effort in everything that we do on a daily basis. If we are ever slipping, it could set us back a day, a week, a month, or even a year in our progress.
So on our journey, let’s keep running this marathon and embody the Mamba mentality!
Personal Development – Always Do Your Best To Improve The Lives Of Others.
Now this lesson, I learned from Kobe from mostly the tail-end of his career. Through his works in the community, the mamba academy, and even his children’s stories, it’s evident that he was trying to give back to the community.
By sharing your love, knowledge, and time with others, we all are able to get a sense of fulfillment in our lives.
Adjacently, based on seeing him with his daughters and his interactions with other players around the league, he was constantly serving as a mentor to everyone who needed him.
If you have knowledge or time to help others, then that can be a gift in itself.
Now these are just a few of the lessons I’ve learned from his legendary life and I’m sure that there are countless others that many people could share. No one can ever replace what he brought to us on this earth.
He was truly an inspiration to us all!
If there are any lessons or inspirational moments that you’ve learned from Kobe, then please share them below in the comments. Much love!
